the theme for this weeks m.p.&y. comes courtesy of susan at
the things that make you go mmmm
this topic is quite close to my heart because i am a bit of a gadget collector and user.
it is for this reason that i was quite torn when it came to the task of choosing a favorite gadget.
i found it necessary to separate my gadgets into ares of interest and choose a favorite from each category.
first up we have the kitchen gadget category.
and the winners are ;
1. the microplane grater 2.the parmesan grater 3.the adjustable measuring spoons
next we have the gardening division
here there was no contest, hands down first prize goes to;
the felco's
swiss made secateurs
so special are these babies that after a hard day of working in the garden they are secreted away into the laundry cupboard far away from my husband and his neglectful tool caring ways
and finally in the crafting section where there was stiff competition between;
the long metal hooky thingo that i could not live without
it works tirelessly every day dragging endless metres of elastic through the little heel hugging section of my baby shoes
and last but far from least is my very favorite ever crochet hook
he is so loved and admired by the entire family that they all know him and recognise him by name
-" golden boy"-
if you would like a sneak peek at other peoples gadgets hop on over to
hello owl the home and h.q. of m.p.&y.

I love that you have a name for your crochet hook - you really must use it a lot!
Where would I get one of those metal hook thingos for the elastic?? That is something I've always needed!!
Wendy xx
btw, do you do little online tours of your creating cottage - it looks so cute, and I'm so jealous!

Oh, that tube turner is so good! I love mine so much - but seem to lose it a lot? Maybe I need another one. I don't know what its official name is tho. Mine is refered to as that long thing I use to turn the fabric... you know? [to which my husband shakes his head and claims to have never seen such a thing.] The crochet hook is lovely! I can only imagine how comfy it would be. Where did you get it? I have a few with plastic handles which are better than the non-handled ones but you know, its plastic so can be improved. BTW glad I'm not the only one without an iphone. So many nice aps that I could use. I tell my husband every day how much I'd use one :) lol

lovely collection of gadgets! and I always wondered how people got elastic through.. I hate it when pieces lose their strings and bits and trying to get them back through

Now that is a handy handful of gadgets. Think I'm a little envious!
The parmesan grater and measuring spoons are something that I could definitely use though. :)
