i am not sure, but i think this blog may be morphing into a place where i bare my soul, confess my sins, like a kind of online reconciliation.
let me explain.
over the past weeks i have been trying to get to my sewing machine in order to create some dazzling midge and judy creations for the upcoming markets.
my problem is that i can't get in the door of my creative cottage in the garden because it is chockablock full to overflowing with all manner of craftiness.
you see i have a dirty little secret. a cupboard, shelf and drawers of shame. it seems i am a compulsive buyer and hoarder of fabric and linen.
but wait, there's more..........
and so to my decision of how to solve this compulsion that has crept up on me.
i herby on this day declare that i will not ever, never purchase another piece or pieces of fabric until i have used at least half of what i have.
and furthermore i will give serious consideration to joining miss tiff at dottie angel in her pledge to not purchase but to make all of her clothing and gifts for the next 365 days. i say consider because i need to be very certain that i can remain true to this noble cause.
and furthermore still i declare that i will dedicate my tuesday post to a progress report on how my mending of these frivolous and excessively consumptive ways is developing.
on tight butt tuesday i plan to share with you how i have put this excessive stockpile to good (or bad as the case may be) use.
if you would like to play along with me i will be grateful of the company.
That is an awesome stash Michelle. A perfect stash to fulfil the noble pledge. You can do it!

oooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh mmmyyyy goodness! I can't wait to see what you'll do. I SEWWWW need a sewing machine. I, too, have some fabric (not to that extent, of course, but enough for two storage bins.. why? I DON'T HAVE A MACHINE).
Perhaps my april splurge will be on a machine (can't be march I'm getting my hair did and more of my tattoo filled ;p)

I am with you on not purchasing any more fabric. I have more than plenty to hold me over. I eve told my husband not to let me near a fabric store for the next 6 months. I have also told myself to make as many gifts for family and friends this year and see how my stash gets reduced.
