last week i started a tuesday routine. my plan is to work through my rather substantial stash of fabric and vintage linen.
if i post the results of my effort each tuesday it will force me to come up with a project and at the same time will give me a subject for a post. win/win i say.
and so to the business end of the story. here are my doily birds. they were produced using cotton prints and embroidered linen from my stash. i even managed to find the beads for their eyes in my crafty cottage. the only material i needed to source was the perches and these were scrounged from the ground around the base of some gum trees.
all credit to rosalie quinlan for the pattern as it appears in her lovely book a stitch in time
judging by the noisy screeching of the birds overhead and the hungry look in the twinkling eye of mr norris i think that the result was rather good.
if you are working through your stash i would love to se what you are making.
