i have decided to play again this weekend. the super duper topic chosen by this weeks theme queen-my bricole is my secret weapon.
i pondered this topic for a wee while and then narrowed my arsenal down to three. at the risk of being labelled a blog hog i decided to share all three.
the first of three is my ingenious secret weapon designed to tame unruly children. it goes like this ::
on our kitchen bench top we have two jars. one is mine and it is filled with shiny treasures, the second is the childrens' jar and it starts off empty. each time one of the kids is generous, thoughtful or kind they get a treasure. each time they commit a heinous offence i reclaim a treasure (plonk-into my jar) then when their jar is full and mine empty they get a treat. usually a family activity chosen by them.
p.s. i lose treasures too. my crimes are yelling swearing and drinking too many of the next weapon
which leads me to weapon number two. shown below in a photo recycled from an earlier post
my freezer is always stocked with this weapon. i bring it out on particularly stressful days, usually around the time i am preparing dinner, supervising homework, folding washing etc. you know the drill. i fondly refer to it as suicide hour. i thought you might like the recipe ::
1 cup of chilled sugar syrup
the juice of 6 limes
2 cups of cranberry
2 cups of vodka
mix, cover, freeze. keep in the freezer and just pour yourself a tumbler as required. but never before midday and always drink responsibly. cheers big ears.
the third weapon really looks like a weapon. it is however a little hooky thing that i have had in my crafty stuff for years. it is indispensable for jobs like turning sewing in the right way and threading elastic or chord.
well that's it from this little crafting, tipsy, disciplinarian. there is a list of armed and not very dangerous at meet me at mikes
